FSC / Sierra Summit Ride Share calendar is now on line.
The Fresno Ski Club Sierra Summit Ride share calendar was established in 2006 as an
exclusive, safe, cost effective and convenient service for FSC members.
The rideshare calendar is located in the secure password protected section of
the “Members only” area of the Fresno Ski Club website. Safety and fellowship
are key issues for those using the service. Sharing a ride helps members get to
know each other better and offers a pool of like minded, safe skiers / boarders
to share the mountain with.

Wanted - Administrative Assistants
New and progressive changes for the
2008-2009 FSC Boards

Some of the upcoming projects include:
  • Major website updates and interactive media to support trips and events.
  • Club archives of historical pictures and documents dating back to the 1930’s, are to be digitized.
  • Revenue generating sponsorship programs to help subsidize club overhead.
  • Outreach programs to boost membership and provide community and industry related service projects.

If you enjoy the convenience, fun, and benefits of the Fresno Ski Club, we ask you to remember that all of the work to run and manage the club is based on volunteers.

Successful individuals in life have a passion beyond just having fun.

If you have that passion, willing to share your time, talents, energy and give back to the FSC… we need your help! If you want to test the waters before being a Board Member, this is a great way to discover your talents. Every Board position needs administrative assistants. We can train, we just need committed individuals.

Please contact:
Pat Mayfield @ 314-4898, or you check with us at the up coming general meetings.

Planning for out-of-state trips

Airlines and New Policies

I believe that almost everyone is aware of the security changes being implemented at airports. However other changes in airline bookings are also in play.

Airlines policies have set new limitations on how passenger seats are held, including “blocks” of seats held by tour groups. These policies are dictating changes in the way we book the FSC out of state and international ski trips. Under Airlines 90/90 policies, carriers are requiring that 90% of group “blocked” seats be held with a “passenger’s name” 90 days prior to departure, or the open seats will be dropped.

Fading like the snow in spring are the days that we could wait until the last minute to signup for discounted long distance trips with air fare. While this does not mean that we can not add passengers, it affects the cost! Any new seats will be offered by the airlines based on current availability and prices.

Bottom line!
If you want to participate, you need to plan now … not later

Look at your calendar early and mark your trips and vacation time. If you can’t get to a meeting, the FSC website has all the forms for Trips, Policies and Membership. Download the forms and mail with your payment: www.fresnoskiclub.com/clubdocs.htm

Plan financially, the FSC breaks the trip price into 3 or 4 small deposits. Put your deposit down early; if you need to, use your credit card. You can call the trip chair for "access passwords" for online payments in the members section. Visa, Master card, Discover card, American Express and Paypal are accepted.

The Fresno Ski Club’s Board of Directors works hard to pick the best destinations and the best prices for our members but we need your support to keep it that way!

See you on the slopes,

Thank You!

TRIP CHAIRS

It is not too early to be thinking about next year's ski season and the Club's need for able bodied volunteers to serve as trip chairs.

Serving as a trip chair is an excellent way to get to know more members, serve a vital role for the Club, and receive substantial savings on the cost on your own trip. If you would like to learn more about being a trip chair, please contact:
